2012 Video Challenge Rules and Guidelines

The current guidelines for the Video Challenge are as follows:

  • Length must be between 2 min and 2 min 30 sec. (120 sec - 150 sec). No exceptions. Including any opening or closing credits.
  • Work must not have been used in any other national contest.
  • You must own all proper licensing to materials used in your video.
  • Videos will be judged on: originality, production value and impact.
  • Videos will be submitted through YouTube as a private video (not publicly searchable).
  • All licensing information for materials used in the video MUST be listed in the description of the video when it is submitted.
  • If at all possible, please post your videos in the highest resolution.

All videos submitted during between 12:01 AM on April 24th, 2012 through 11:29 PM April 30th, 2011 will be reviewed by our panel of guest judges (TBA). The result of this judging period will be 10 finalists.

The videos of the finalists will be re-posted by to an NPLTW Finalist playlist on the American Life League YouTube Channel:

As well as to an NPLTW Finalist Video album on the American Life League Facebook Page:

The combined number of Facebook Likes and YouTube Thumbs-Ups will determine the score each video receives. The winner will be the video with the highest score after a period of approximately 2 weeks following the announcement of the finalists. The final closing date for the voting period will be announced along with the announcement of the finalists.
